Privacy policy
This page describes the audience measurement of the www.easyrecordstudio.com website.
Audience measurement
We measure the site's traffic with a tool we designed and host ourselves: no third-party service is called and no data leaves our server. This measurement does not rely on any personal data and only aims to know which pages are read, where visitors come from and where the site can be improved.
What is measured
- page views (the name of the page, never the full address: whatever follows a question
mark is not kept, except the campaign parameters
utm_source,utm_mediumandutm_campaign); - the site a visit came from (its domain name only);
- the browser language, the type of device (computer, mobile, tablet), the operating system, the browser;
- the time actually spent on a page, the scroll depth and the loading times;
- the steps of the journey: click on "Download", download of the installer, signup, sign-in, first sign-in in the application;
- technical problems: pages not found (with the site the visitor came from), JavaScript errors, and the cause of failed signups or sign-ins (never what was typed);
- an approximate location (country and city), deduced from the IP address at the time of the visit.
What is never kept
Your IP address is neither recorded nor kept: it is read in memory, just long enough to deduce the country and the city, with the GeoLite2 databases of MaxMind (this product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from www.maxmind.com). Your name, your email address, your account, the full identification of your browser and the content of any form are never kept either. No measurement is tied to an account: visiting the site, signing in or downloading cannot be traced back to you. Robots are recognised and merely counted, never recorded as visits.
The measurement cookie
A single cookie, set by our site and read only by it (ers_v), holds a randomly drawn
identifier. It lets us recognise a returning visitor and follow a journey spread over several days
(visit the site, then download, then sign in). It lasts 13 months without being renewed, is used
for nothing else (no advertising, no profiling, no matching with other sites) and is linked to no
information about you. As an audience measurement strictly limited to these uses, it does not
require prior consent.
To protect against abusive requests, a temporary counter is computed from an irreversible fingerprint of the IP address, which changes every day. It is deleted within an hour and is part of no statistic.
Retention
Measurement data is deleted after 25 months at the latest.
Your choice
Nothing is measured if your browser sends the "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal. You can also refuse here: the measurement cookie is then deleted and nothing more is recorded about you.
