Understanding an error reference

When an action cannot be completed - a recording that fails, a setting that cannot be saved, a block merge that is refused... - the application shows an orange warning window with an error message. Under that message, a small "Copy the error message" link copies a line shaped like Error ERS-BLC-047 - <message> to the clipboard.

That reference, in the format ERS-<category>-<number>, precisely identifies the problem encountered. If you contact us about it, paste that line as it is in your message: it's the fastest way for us to find out exactly what happened, without having to reproduce the problem ourselves.

Session

Creating, loading, deleting and renaming a session, the working folder, the session's volume/equalizer/effects, time signature and tempo changes on the timeline, the tutorial's demo session.

ERS-SES-001 - New session: the tempo preview could not start.
ERS-SES-002 - Creating the new session failed (name already used, folder not accessible...).

Track

Adding, deleting and moving a track, its configuration (name, colour, icon, channels), a track's volume/equalizer/effects, mute, solo, minimizing, the input device.

Block

Creating, duplicating, cloning, unlinking, moving, merging, pasting, deleting, renaming and cropping a block (audio and midi), a block's volume/equalizer/effects, editing a midi block's content (notes, instruments, measures, subdivision), editing the waveform and importing audio, previewing and keyboard-recording in the block editor.

ERS-BLC-109 - Importing an audio file was refused: the file would overlap a block further along the track.
ERS-BLC-110 - “Edit the selection” could not complete: the selection is empty or unreadable, or the new audio file could not be created.

Devices and audio engine

The device test during the introduction, starting and switching recording, playback and effect previews at the audio engine level, regardless of any particular track, block or session.
